DDMIX stands for Diverse Dance Mix and is Dance Fitness by Darcey Bussell. It is a fun, inclusive and easy to follow workout based on a wide range of different dance styles, genres and eras and suitable for all ages and abilities.
Darcey wanted to create a program using segments of dance from around the world, providing great variety with a western touch. Given her deep interest in all forms of dance and having danced nearly all genres from her classical ballet base, the DDMIX adventure began. Choreographed by Darcey and Nathan Clarke, each genre is approximately 2.5 minutes long and with over 30 different genres, from Bollywood to Charleston, Russian to Japanese no one ever gets bored!
The aim of DDMIX is to get people moving without being intimidated by the word ‘dance’. Using simple steps it gives a full body aerobic workout that is such fun that you don’t even notice that you are exercising…and because you switch between so many different genres per class, your mind has a work out too!
